Fringe World is a seasonal event, consisting of many small events. The event designers created a highly pleasing aesthetic landscape through lighting, decoration and colour choices. The visual elements are best described as a distinct - yet blurred mixture of the decades. One that is both vintage and modern; old and new; foreign but familiar. The decade styles range from  the 50s to the 90s and back again, especially with so many 'modern day' 1940s-looking hipsters amongst the attendees. Fringe World offers a very unique appeal - one of a flourishing new culture and identity for Perth. The event is very much affective in nature, based around entertainment, food and the arts - highly cultural.Fringe World feels new and inviting. It is youthful and but very diverse. It was not exclusive to any age group or demographic.

For those however that love feeling young, there was roller skating!

I was able to convince my husband to come rollerskating with me. I felt a sense of pride in the fact that I am a #90s kid and that I had the opportunity to briefly relive my childhood. They played a variety of music at the roller skating rink, including my husband's favourite - Ghostbusters.  After a while, we got too confident and traded our blades for skates. It wasn't long before I fell and dragged him down with me by his arm! Either way, we had a lot of fun - and I he even let me get a cute photo for my blog.
