South Perth Fiesta Concert

Date: March 5

Time: 5pm to 9:30pm

Location: Sir James Mitchell Park, Coode Street, South Perth

Cost: Free

The atmosphere and general dynamics were great. The music contributed significantly to the mood. The space (a very spacious park) also had great impact on the feeling, or vibe - associated to this event. The way it personally made me feel, was that I was free to enjoy myself uninhibitedly. As long as I didn't negatively affect somebody else' enjoyment. Of course I can identify that as the influence of Australian culture and values.

I came into knowledge of the event after driving past the announcement banner, next to the busy roadside by which the park is situated.
Butterflies and cursive writing - possibly symbolic of magic, or airiness and lightness.

I arrived early, so I managed to get a spot right by the stage.

The featured performer was Nathaniel, a young artist who sang a variety of songs and genres that appealed to a broad range of ages. His performance got many people up and dancing at the front of the stage.

As Nathaniel finished, a wonderful display of fireworks started (and it was perfectly timed). Everyone left with a warm feeling of community and inclusion. The implicit meanings attached to the event (I think), was the enjoyment of the company of others and harmonious interrelation.  The themes were observably based on togetherness and familiarity.

The 2016 South Perth Fiesta Concert was purposed to cultivate a sense of belonging and community building. I also know this, because Leo and I were able to make new friends.
